Foodbank Donations from Ebberston residents

Thank you very much to everyone who donated to the Ebberston Ryedale Food Bank collection so generously. The donations box was filled twice over. The car boot was full when the goods were sorted and labelled ready for delivery.

The next Collection will be on Friday 5 June. The box for donations is located at the Chapel.

Ebberston in lockdown- a snapshot in time

Monday 23rd March 2020. Our prime minister announces the UK is on lockdown due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Shops, pubs, cafes all shut. The British public are allowed outside once a day for exercise. This was a time for the country to pull together and help each other out. This is a blog to capture this unique moment in our history. While at the time of writing lockdown restrictions are slowly beginning to lift, it is important to remember how our village coped with coronavirus.

Village volunteers helping those who need it
Creative chalk drawings reminding us to keep our distance
The adopted symbol of the nation, light at the end of the rainbow
A hunt around the village for these decorative rocks
Classic humour to keep spirits up
Daily jokes to keep the village amused

VE Day 75 in Ebberston

Due to COVID19, the planned ‘tea dance’ could not go ahead but lots of residents took the time to put up bunting and decorate their houses for the 75th anniversary of VE Day. Here are a few pictures. If you took more around the village, please do send them on so they can be added here for posterity!
