PARISH CLERK AND FINANCE OFFICER
Working hours – approximately 18 hours per month
Ebberston with Yedingham and Bickley Parish Council is seeking to appoint a forward thinking Clerk and Finance Officer.
This is an opportunity to become part of a proactive Parish Council with 7 active councillors.
As Clerk to the Council you will be the Proper Officer and as such will be expected to manage the Council’s statuary requirements, advise the Council in its future development and promote the interests of the Parish. As the Finance Officer you will also be responsible for and manage the Council’s income and expenditure, VAT returns, Audits and filing the Annual Return.
Candidates with a good local knowledge of Ebberston, Yedingham and Bickley Parish and the issues facing it are preferred.
You will have or be capable of obtaining the Certificate in Local Council Administration (CiLCA). You will be IT competent and work principally from home.
Some evening work will be required as Parish Council meetings with occasional Planning Committee Meetings occur at this time, attendance at other evening meetings will be infrequent and on an ad hoc, “as needed” basis. There are normally 6 Council meetings per year.
Salary will be paid in accordance with qualifications and experience and in line with the National Joint Council Salary Scale.
