An evening of blues with Howlin’ Mat

Our next music event at the village hall is an evening of blues with Howlin’ Mat on Friday 3rd February 2023 at 7.15pm.

Mat Partner is a blues singer, guitarist 🎸and storyteller who follows in the footsteps of his musical heroes such as Mississippi Fred McDowell and Muddy Waters. He is never short of a story and his escapades include him opening for the Happy Mondays, and spending an evening with Led Zeppelin legend John Paul Jones on an island 130 miles inside the Arctic Circle! An entertaining evening is guaranteed.

Tickets are £10 in advance (Available via 01723 859730 / 80 Main St in the village). We will run our pop-up bar again (cash only 💵) on the evening. All proceeds to Ebberston Village Hall (Reg. Charity 523346).

Book early as we expect this to be a popular event and space is limited.

Skinner and T’witch review

We had an excellent night with Skinner & T’witch at the village hall last night. Feedback from the 40 guests was excellent … “fantastic”, “loved it”, “brilliant storytelling and atmosphere”, “nice to be acoustic”, “very nice venue, friendly and pleasant”. It was a great night out raising money for the village hall.

Skinner and T’witch were the perfect fit for our compact village hall. Sandra and Steve entertained us with wonderful harmonies and beautiful songs, often funny, sometimes moving, and it made for a wonderful evening’s entertainment . We’d love to have them back!

Thanks also to Rural Arts and Arts Council England who have helped to bring great entertainment right to our doorstep!

Folk, Flamenco and Theatre-style songs with an added dose of comedy, all in one foot-tapping evening. There are fabulous reviews for this Leeds-based duo.

Ebberston Village Hall survey

Ebberston Village Hall Committee are carrying out a survey to better understand how the current Village Hall building and fabric is perceived by residents and users, to help guide a programme of improvements, from major to minor.

The Committee has lots of ideas but would need to apply for grants to be able to carry out some of this work. Funders often require evidence of community support for such projects. This survey therefore forms an essential first step in that process and your contribution is vital.

Our aims for this survey are

 – To gauge the level of community support for development of the existing Village Hall building, and to establish the priorities and needs of residents / hall users.

Please fill out this survey as soon as you are able and no later than Friday 14th October. Your response is anonymous.

The survey should not take more than 5 minutes. If you have any questions about the survey, please feel free to speak to any member of the village hall committee or email
